Diligence in the Morning. Miracles at Night.

**Shoutout to all those people who have written me telling me they read my letters in family home evening, Relief Society, to their friends at school, Young Women's Class etc..... Man, I am so flattered. You are the nicest.**

That whole theme song about 'It's Gonna take work?' So fittting. I am not sure what exactly happened this week but all of a sudden our schedule became about 309578957 times more busy. Like Really. Not to say we weren't busy before. . I am just waiting for the moment when my blistered feet fall off and I have no more energy to lift the corners of my mouth to smile. Life is so crazy. And so Great. Every day I think I can't make it one more day and somehow? It still happens. I am pretty sure we were running to catch every single bus and then planning for the next lesson we are teaching on the bus and  then eating an apple for breakfast as we are running out the door with half wet hair.... People were just crawling out of the cracks and we were loving every second of it.

I know I way over use the word miracle. I really do. BUT I have a really cool story for you. Brace yourselves. This is one of those grab-some-popcorn-and-pass-the-tissues-worthy. And it is a long one so if you need to take a break and eat some chocolate I understand. This was one of those out of body experiences that you always hear about but just think 'ya...ya..okay whatever you say.' No. It's real. I cannot believe it happened to us This will be one of those mission stories/experiences that I will remember forever. I just picture my grandkids all bundled up as Grandma starts for the 80th time 'On my mission...'  hehe but okay, okay. I will get to the point.

So rewind about a month ago to one of those days when the whole world was crashing down on us. We got lost. Couldn't find the house we were looking for. Doored a whole building with lots of doors slammed in our face and are waiting at this bus stop. There is this guy there and he starts pointing towards the advertisement next to us telling us in very broken German.'Eyes. Light' Umm thank you?  My Creeper radar was in full swing. So we just smile and nod. Get on the bus and he sits semi-close to us and Sister Teeples and I are like fighting over who is going to talk to him. I was being a big fat chicken... But finally after a whole bunch of strange things happen on that bus ride (That is a story for another day) I decide this can't get any more awkward so might as well go for a good story or something.... SO taking all my guts, I hop over a seat and just flat out ask him where he learned his German. Spain. Sister Teeples leaps up and puts her 7 years of Spanish to good use... Oh so NOW you want to talk to him huh? hehe jk I love her. But yes turns out he has seen our church everywhere in Spain and has always noticed a special light about us but he couldn't get his point across in German and was just waiting for us to talk to him. We end up giving him a tour of the church and make out an appointment for the following Tuesday.

He calls asking to change the appointment to the next day but we are in a lesson and we miss his call and then it is private and there is no way of getting his number.... We. are devistated. I mean really. I cannot tell you how many prayers we said asking Heavenly Father to in someway let him know that we still care about him and to maybe just maybe have him call us back... So now fast forward to this Wednesday.

We are on our way to an appointment with our super crazy schedule with absolutely no wiggle room... when I look out the window and see him!! I could not believe it. Words cannot even express what happened just then. I just leap up screaming There's Elkin! And before I can even comprehend what I am doing..we are just sprinting after him... And when I say Sprinting I mean Sprinting. I am pretty sure everyone in Germany was routing for us... They may not have known what was going on but everyone on our bus was like screaming for the bus driver to stop as we leap out of our bus, barely making it onto his bus literally as it is pulling away... I am just screaming his name across the bus as I make my way through the crowd! I may have creeped him and everyone else on the bus out but it doesn't matter because out of the thousands of people in Münster... WE FOUND HIM. So then Sister Teeples whips out her Spanish and starts clarifying the whole situation and the only word I understood was Manana. Manana? wait.. as in tomorrow?? So we meet with him the next day... and the next day.. and the next day....

He soaks up everything. He loves our values. He loves The Book of Mormon. He loves what we believe. Every night when we close our lesson he is just like wait... tell me more. What else can you tell me? We taught him that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were two different people with perfect bodies and that we pray to Heavenly Father in Christ's name and it was the biggest Ah-ha moment for him. He wants the 'light in our eyes' so bad. He wants the Mormon glow.  Ahhhh guys. It is the neatest thing to watch. The only downer is that he might be going back to Spain this week because he is having trouble with his papers or something... and he doesn't know how long he will be there... But we are hoping to get him hooked up with missionaries there and then he could go to church in his native language and everything. It's in Heavenly Father's hands. It's going to be amazing.

I am so grateful to play a part in this. To feel the Holy Ghost that strongly that I am literally compelled to get out of my seat. Without even thinking twice. To not be so chicken and actually get the guts to talk to someone even when my creeper radar is out. To be companions with Sister Teeples where she can use those Spanish skills. To hear him pray and be so prepared. To actually want to hear what we have to say and make changes in his life. Oh I am the luckiest missionary in the whole world.

Sister Heywood

TERRIBLE quality and it was dark.... but I can finally afford stamps and I have been working my tail off to try to get everyone written back so watch the mail this week and hopefully I can figure out how to work the mail system here....

Truth.

This pretty much sums up the feeling after a chinese buffet....

Thanks Lukie for the delectable meal. And the chicken liver..... yes. I accidentally ate that.. I guess that is what happens when I don't know the word for liver in German.

Most successful yet. We are getting the hang of these things.

Last P-day Aiyana wanted to go shopping with us for longer skirts because 'we dress so cute' (Don't know about that one with the same 5 skirts I wear but... thank you?) We entertained ourselves for the hours she took with a little fashion show...

Aiyana quote 'Sister Heywood... 'Would you wear this? No but really.' heheNot a fan.... But hey I liked it.
