I think I have some divine help with accomplishing my goals considering my new years goal was to become a pro at thema giving. Between District Meeting, MLC, and Two Zone Trainings, I won't need a year to master that one. A week will suffice. Thank you. hehe I am seriously so pumped for zone trainings now. This is like girls camp planning on steroids. And we all know my love of girls camp. boo yah. It's going to be awesome. Prepare yourself.
But yes between all this planning stuff sometimes the day slips away from you and you end up spending the whole day on conference calls and correlation meetings trying to get everything planned and I feel like I havn't done any like actual missionary work. phew. Saturday was one of those days. And this is when the talent of goal making came in. Remember those famous 5 R's? (thanks sister Johnson. you're the reason behind Duisburg miracles) Well we sat down and thought of something we could do for each of them that day and had an idea for all of them except reactivation. So a little half heartedly I suggested we call this less active that we had visited the other day. Call. Invite. And that's that. Check.
And then she comes. She came to church. With her son that is not a member. And stayed for Benjamin's baptism. I cannot even tell you how many times we visit and visit and call and call and attempt to get people to get off their lazy tushes and come be uplifted for a few hours a week. Gah. I couldn't believe she was actually there. And when the bishop asked her why she had come she simply said 'well. because someone invited me'. That's all it took. Just a little invite to get someone to church that hadn't been in years. oh man. I love those moments.
Just to add a little cherry on top to the wonderful Sunday, one of the members that we taught last week told Sister Madsen and I how inspired our thema about talents was. She said how right before we came they were all yelling and arguing and such and then we walk in and whip out our lesson of having everyone in a circle say one talent they saw in each person. ( totally reminded me of you mom with the whole 'for every one thing mean you say, say ten things you love about your broth' deal) and how big of a difference that made for their family.
Maybe I can make a difference here.
